- that band that you love that just hasn't hit it big time yet

Make a list of several topics and areas of interest, then narrow it down to about the top three. One of these can be your next online business.
You can now do some research to find out which topic has the most demand - the most people searching for it - but without too much competition. You can find out how profitable that topic is and do some research on what types of products, services, opportunities, etc you could promote on that topic. This research should show you which of the top three topics is the best one to start with.
Now you can build a website, based on that topic, using keywords that people are searching for. Your goal is to provide your valuable information, and lots of it, to draw people to your site. Once you have a lot of content (information), and your website is drawing free traffic (people searching on the internet), then it will be time to start promoting those products you found that are specific to your topic.
You can promote affiliate products, where you send people to someone else's website and you get a percentage of any sales. You can promote your own products or services. You can display google ads on your site and get paid when people click on them. There are many many ways that you can make money from your site, now that you have the valuable information that people are looking for.
So you see, it is simple to make money at home. But it can take a little while to develop and build all of that information into a great site. I'm sure you know that it takes time to build ANY profitable, long lasting business, though. And that's exactly what you are doing.
