Dublin not only a great place for nights out or for business meetings, Dublin is also a family friendly place with many kid’s attractions. For example, it has an amazing Zoo, renewed for its work in conservation and part of a TV show, not to mention also Phoenix park which is the largest city park of Europe and lots of other museums and tours designed to entertain children and people from all ages.

Dublinia

Starting with Dublinia, an interactive exhibition about Viking and Medieval time in Dublin. There is a lot to see and they have high quality exhibitions. You will go back in time to the dark period of Dublin with the recreating of the sights, sounds and smells of the city. You will even be able to meet the Vikings in person…This attraction is located in the city centre of Dublin and is a really exciting experience for the whole family as well as being an interesting way of learning history.

The Natural History Museum

The Natural history museum also called the “dead zoo” is also a popular attraction for families. It is free of charge and located right in the town centre. The museum displays hundreds of animals in a cabinet-style. Downstairs you can discover the different spices that have lived in Ireland and upstairs there is the impressive “mammal room”.

Hop on Hop off Bus

A nice way to navigate the city and be able to stop at some of the main attractions is the Hop on Hop off buses. Kids will love the roof seat and you will have a nice view of Dublin’s architecture. You can also have audio guides or live comment depending on buses.

St Patrick’s Cathedral

You might think that visiting an old church is not really appropriate for a family but let us prove you wrong. This Cathedral has a lot of history and is particularly stunning. Outside, there is a large grassed area with enough space for your kids to run around. Inside you will be able to enjoy its beauty and discover a little bit of its history through exhibitions.

If the weather is not clement you could take a shelter at Cineworld cinema to watch one of those blockbusters that kids loves and that are good enough to keep you entertain. Grab popcorn and enjoy!

Viking Splash Tour

If you are looking for an unusual activity this is the one you should go for. The program: an exciting visit of the city on board of an amphibian vehicle. Kids will be delighted with their Viking hat and during the second part of the tour, they will love when the vehicle dives into the Grand canal dock. Definitely a fun attraction where you will discover the city from another point of view.

Fun Galaxy, Airside

You will need a 20-mins car ride to reach this attraction but it is well worth it. Again, in case of a very poor weather this indoor kids attraction it a good option. This play centre if rich in infrastructures and there is a café for you to relax.

Dublin Zoo

Dublin Zoo is the most popular family attractions in Dublin and attracts many people every year. Located on the ground of Phoenix park it features 8 different animal habitat areas. There are numerous playgrounds as well as picnic areas. You are guarantee of a full day a fun.

Stephens Green

The loved city park of Stephens Green features a nice playground for children. It is also nice for a walk. You can also go duck feeding near the ornamental lake and go monument hunting. Located in the city centre is a very good place for your kids.

Phoenix Park

If you want to go away from the busy city centre, you will feel surrounded by the peace of nature at Phoenix park. In addition to its large green areas, the park features a children playground, a visitor centre, sports fields and many paths to walk or cycle.
