The area of Downtown Rochester in New York has seen a renaissance of sorts with new structures and buildings popping up all over town. Apart from the existing residential properties, a spate of new constructions has added to the elegance and charm of the area.

The area is a major draw for tourists and home to some of the finest boutique hotels in Rochester NY. They are located in the centre of town and offer convenient access to the best attractions in the area.  

If you plan a visit in the summer, you will need to book in advance as most of Rochester’s best hotels are packed to the hilt. Finding suitable accommodation at short notice could be a problem therefore, it is best to book in advance.

Some of the top attractions to visit in the area include

Fuego Coffee Roasters: If you need a caffeine fix then there is no better place to visit than Fuego Coffee Roasters, which serves the best roasted artisanal coffee from across the globe. The place underwent an expansion recently making it the ideal place to relax and enjoy the best brews.

Abilene Bar & Lounge: If you are looking for a quaint lil’ spot with a great bar and fabulous live music head over for drinks at the Abilene Bar & Lounge. With amiable staff, the place is great to hang out in summer enjoying a refreshing drink on the patio with some great music. One of the best times to visit the place is when the Jazz Fest is in town!

Java's Cafe: If you are visiting 16 Gibbs Street then hop along to a local favourite Java’s Cafe that churns out some of the finest lattes and drinks in the area. Apart from the beverages, the place is also famous for its great food that includes baked goodies, sandwiches and lots more. While there you could check out the Eastman School of Music located next door, which plays host to free concerts at different times of the year.

The shop has large windows that offer amazing views of the area and visitors can enjoy their refreshing coffee accompanies by sandwiches, pastries and other tasty edibles.
