At her trial, a court-appointed psychologist said Brinkley "needs to start working on deeper issues," including "her choice of male figures."

Christie Brinkley with a robust and athletic California-girl smile was the first woman to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition for three consecutive years (1979-81).  Brinkley was studying art in Paris when she was discovered by a fashion photographer early in the 1970s, and she soon joined the Ford modeling agency. Her career really took off with her first Sports Illustrated cover in 1979. She had a cameo role in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) and married superstar singer Billy Joel 1985. (She appeared in Joel's videos for "Uptown Girl" and "Keeping the Faith" and created the cover art for his 1988 Album River of Dreams. Brinkley and Joel divorced in 1994.) Like Cheryl Tiegs Brinkley was a longtime spokes model for Cover Girl cosmetics.

Christie Brinkley has had quite the illustrious career, although her relationships haven’t exuded the same fortuitous outcome since all four have ended badly! The later being no exception, with Peter Cook partaking in extra marital affairs, pornography, and drugs!

Among the details Christie Brinkley revealed at the divorce trial:

  • Peter Cook offered to pay women he met online for sex.
  • Spent upwards of $3,000 a month on online porn
  • Forgot to close a slideshow of said porn when 10-year-old son Jack asked to use his computer for a school report
  • Had an affair with teenage assistant Diana Bianchi
  • Was busted for cocaine at a gay truck stop and did time

Is Peter Cook wrong for his detestable behavior? Absolutely, unequivocally yes, but the bigger question for Christie is; what’s going to be different next time?

Why do some women seem to attract one Mr. Wrong after another? It’s not as if they’ve placed a classified in the local newspaper, which listed all the descriptive yet detestable qualities they’ve never longed for! And, I don’t think they’ve conducted a Mr. Wrong job fair at the local conference center and laboriously interviewed a cast of undesirable potentials! So, why in the heck do these guys keep showing up?

Let’s take a moment to examine the statement Christie’s psychologist made during her divorce litigation “Brinkley needs to start working on deeper issues," including "her choice of male figures."

Is it really a matter of conscious choice? In my opinion, it is not and nor has it ever been. I’m quite sure Christie did not intend to land someone that was going to sleep with his 18 year old assistant, become addicted to porn, or get arrested for drugs! I have proven time in and time out that this unfortuitious scenario happens purely by default! The law of attraction is at play here, and it’s almost as if she’s a Mr. Wrong Magnet! Well, maybe she is in so many words! Now don’t get me wrong (not a play on words!) I am not at all saying that she deserves to attract the wrong guy. Quite the contrary, she deserves to find the love that she’s always dreamed of and I’m going to tell her exactly how to get it!

You see, most women attract Mr. Wrong unintentionally or by default! Well, of course it happened by default since you didn’t ask for it! Or, did you?  Well, you may not have verbally asked for it but you did subconsciously! The universe is not partial to what you order, so the celestial waiter will deliver exactly what you asked for, whether you’re aware of it or not!

Attracting Mr. Wrong has everything to do with the energy you are projecting and ultimately the self-limiting beliefs you hold about yourself as well as others. Frequently, this stems from the fears and insecurities which are bred in a dysfunctional upbringing. As a child, were you unloved, verbally abused, controlled, or inadequately parented? How have these things affected your level of self-esteem? Now, you may be thinking how could Christie Brinkley be dealing with any of these issues? Well, I don’t know Christie personally, so I can’t make that statement with any validity. However, the statement her psychologist made at the trial would certainly lend credibility to that theory.

Now you may be saying to yourself; what does self-esteem have to do with attracting Mr. Wrong? Well, everything! If I asked you to describe the perfect partner, what would you say? It’s my experience that most women would describe the perfect partner as being confident, loving, romantic, caring, kind, understanding and passionate. Someone that loves who they are, can easily articulate their needs, pursue there dreams, and is not afraid to love unconditionally. Ok, now describe your qualities! Is that what you are? If not, then how can you expect to attract someone who is? You see, you must become the very thing you wish to attract! So, if you want to attract Mr. Right you have to transform yourself into Ms. Right!

So, there is hope for Christie to get back on the marriage horse someday by finding Mr. Right! However, to accomplish that it will take liberating her self from her own fears and insecurities and tapping into her true feminine power!
