Hi, it’s Emily Gray here.
If there is one thing I’ve learned about relationships, it is this: communication is the key to anything you may want in your relationship!
I’m not talking about “How was your day?” communication.
I’m talking about real, intimate communication.
How can you possibly get what you want from your relationship, if your partner doesn’t even know what it is? And vice versa!
I’ve seen too many relationships that are lacking this communication, and it is not pretty! Marriages start to dry up, romance becomes a thing of the past. You soon find yourself co-existing with this person, but never really connecting with them.
The symptoms of poor communication can show up in all shapes and sizes.
- Complaining about a lack of romance or sex.
- Mistrust on either or both sides
- Wishing for the “early days” of the relationship
- Bad-talking your partner to your friends
Divorce and breakup are often the final extreme.
Any sign of unhappiness, mistrust or dissatisfaction will most often just be a symptom of a deeper communication problem.
You see, once you learn how to really communicate, you can talk to your partner about what you want and what makes you happy! You can find out what they want and what makes them happy as well. Then you can both work together to make those things happen, and make the relationship something that satisfies, inspires and impassions both of you.
